About Fire-Calc

Learn why Fire-Calc was built, how the calculators are maintained, and what planning philosophy guides updates.

Planning Philosophy and Product Scope

Fire-Calc is built for transparent, scenario-based decision support and should be combined with professional advice when needed.

How Transparency Supports Better Decisions

Documented assumptions and visible update history make it easier to compare scenarios and explain decisions with confidence.

Why we built Fire-Calc and what we optimize for in every calculator release.

Why we built this

Fire-Calc started because many planning tools were either too simplistic or too opaque. We wanted scenario modeling that reflects real tradeoffs: contribution levels, return assumptions, account mix, taxes, and timeline sensitivity.

What we focus on

Each calculator is built for clarity and trust: explicit assumptions, visible timeline outputs, and export/share options for review.

How to use the outputs responsibly

Treat every result as a planning estimate. Compare conservative and optimistic cases, stress-test key assumptions, and combine outputs with your personal constraints before making decisions.

Our commitment

We continuously improve calculators and educational content based on user feedback, behavioral usability, and model-quality audits.

Privacy and data handling

Core calculations run in-browser with no account required. You can use tools anonymously and export data locally for your own records.

Educational use only

Fire-Calc is for education and planning support. It is not individualized legal, tax, or financial advice.
